Kage Geki Karate was born out of the idea that all ranges are important, equipping you with the skills to excel in stand up striking, the clinch and ground grappling.
It is a modern Karate system that is a great way to exercise or to compete in. The system is full contact but when we practice in class or spar it is usually semi-contact unless preparing for a competition.
The roots of Kage Geki Karate is Kyokushin Karate and integrated Judo, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and MMA principles.
Try 2 classes for free to get a feel for this modern approach to Karate. We train in gi and No gi with higher grades being introduced to a Japanese Samurai weapon called the Hanbo which is a 3 foot stick.
Thank you very much to Sensei Daniel Turner of 4th Dan Instructor at Box Hill Jiu Jitsu for being my training partner in these photos and videos

Hi! I'm "Duncan" Ken Yoshida-Mah. I started martial arts when I was 10 years old and have been training for over 25 years.
What this means for you is you will have an experienced instructor & practitioner.
I hold Black Belt & into Senior Dan grades in:
Kyokushin Karate (Black Belt)
Judo (Black Belt)
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (Purple Belt 4 Stripes)
MMA (10 Years of Training + Amateur Fighter)
Japanese Jiu Jitsu & Koryu Weapons (Black Belt)
5 Years of Wrestling
Outside of the Dojo I am an awarded Youth Worker & Marketer.
The difference we put emphasis on that makes us different besides the integration is on character development. To get your black belt or higher, it is not solely technical but has a strong emphasis on community contribution. 3rd Dan upwards is solely on community contribution. This can be in the form of volunteering for the homeless, donate blood on a regular basis etc.
Kage Geki Karate (影撃空手) - Means Shadow Strike Karate, which the main principles of a full contact Karate style uses evasive footwork to angle and control the distance to deliver strikes where the opponent can't see where you are striking from.
